40k is M235i money.
Discuss.

I wouldn't pay for an Audi and I'm not American. I call bullshit.

Ahem.
I'm pretty happy where I'm at, lol.

It's a troll, he's trolling.

This guy is fanboying out the ass.

Never a dull moment here

I want the Audi, but it'd be hard to turn down the M235i.
I'd honestly say it'd be a tossup until I spent time in both, but I probably lean Audi because I'm a fanboy
![]() 02/12/2014 at 11:25 |

My fanboyism is open to the lowest bidder, and while I like hatches I like being able to pick Estoril Blue on the BMW without having to pay an arm and a leg through Audi's exclusive system.
![]() 02/12/2014 at 11:25 |

Yeah, I'd only go with the Audi over the BMW because of the fanboy aspect as well, but damn if I'd rather the M235i.

You're not wrong.
And its painful that HE is followed by Jalopnik and not other worthy people who comment. Not me, I'm not worthy. but people who actually contribute.

I used to fanboy out like that a long time ago.
But then I realized that a multi-billion dollar organization is more than capable of handling it's own PR without my help.

I noticed you added "fat". Nice touch!
And hysterical that someone thinks that just because someone thinks $40K is too much to pay for a subcompact Audi they are unsophisticated. You could buy a used 07/08 Audi S8 for that price. The list would continue on to include quite a few "sophisticated" Euro cars that could be in your driveway for $40K. I know because I'm shopping for a nice lux commuter in that budget. And I'm not fat at all!
Unsophisticated, sometimes...

I just love Audi's style and interiors, and I don't like BMWs. The M235i is pretty much the only modern BMW I'd have any interest in, and practically the only BMW ever I would want to own. Personal preference.
Oh, and I like cars in white and black, so color is not an issue. If I could get Suzuka Grey on the S1 I would die of happiness
![]() 02/12/2014 at 11:36 |

Ugh Suzuka Grey. That and Nardo are so good looking on any of their cars.

A Fiat 500 over a 12C???
No. No reason at all to take someone seriously after that. Clearly the product of preconceived opinions, and zero objective experience with either product.

to bad many others can't figure that out
![]() 02/12/2014 at 11:41 |

Or just listening to Clarkson say the 12C is a copy machine and taking it to heart.
Iunno about you guys, but my Victorious Secret Jr. certainly felt the passion and excitement of the 12C. Minus the flambe of the 458. And with seats that don't suck.
And an airbrake.

40k you say? Fine I'll take this wonderful Corvette Z06 with an LS7 and 505hp then your shitty little Audi will cry and bow down to my American missile.

"Boo hoo American's only want to buy Camry's and not small, expensive to own and maintain, European sub compacts!"
Lmao that guy needs to get a grip. If he wants American's to stop buying Camry's then write a long letter to [insert European car maker] and demand they increase the reliability of their vehicles. American's don't want to shell out $40k+ for some unreliable small hatchback that can barely fit their friends or families.
I'll repeat what I said yesterday:
"I just find it odd that Auto makers like Cadillac, BMW, Mercedes preach this new mantra of trying to get young people into their cars and how they want to change brand perception as "not being for Octogenarians", but will then price a car at $40k and call that affordable.
It's almost like they don't even realize that the US is coming out of a major recession and Millenials (or just about everyone else) just aren't making enough (wages not keeping up with costs of living). I'm not saying make every car $10k but don't price it at $50k with options and say "We don't understand why we can't get 21 year olds in our cars!"
I'd spend $50k on a German car in a heartbeat if I knew it'd be rock solid but we all know that's not reality.

Question: does it come in B-Spec trim? For $40K, I'd like a gott dang racecar. With spares. Crew is nice, too. Size is right. Throw it in there.
Also, B-Spec.
For.
The.
Win.
